Aberdeen Angus Cattle Our Herd
We have 40 cows, which are bred to an Aberdeen Angus bull, and calve early March until the end of June.

The cows are turned out to grass with their calves and they graze all summer (April to October), with some calves being born out in the field. These calves stay with their mothers and suckle from her until they are weaned in mid-January. Once weaned, they are fed silage and cattle nuts.

Aberdeen Angus Cattle Aberdeen Angus cattle are well known for their ability to maintain their body condition from grass without concentrate feeding. In winter, they are fed on grass silage, maize silage, barley and oats.

The Angus’s are slower growing than other breeds, but the meat improves from this and the marbling helps the flavour.
